Born in Brookline, MA I've spent summers on Cape Cod since childhood, moving to the Cape on a year-round basis in the mid sixties. My first permanent teaching position was at Towpath Elementary School in Avon, Connecticut where I taught K-5 art for eleven years. Computers started makng their way into the classrooms and I became increasingly interested in the role and influence of technology on the field of art. After leaving Avon I returned to Dennis to create studio art and took computer graphics classes. This lead to a career in both retail and newspaper publishing working for Camex, Inc and DuPont Printing and Publishing. A natural progression from teaching resulted in a positions as Senior Traininig Specialist, QA Specialist and a run in Sales Support. After a year of consulting work for Imagitex I ran a graphic design business prior to returning to education. At that time I also became involved with the Cotuit Center for the Arts during its fledgling years, creating PR materials and starting their first art education and computer graphics classes. I taught high school graphic design in the Art & Applied Technology Department at Barnstable High School for eighteen years. I'm still an active member of the Cape Cod and Islands Art Educators Association. My focus now is on my artwork and writing a book about my father's aviation career as the 235 licensed Naval test pilot who flew "Flying Boats" from 1916-1919. He was involved in the first trans-Atlantic initiative flying NC (Naval Curtiss) planes as well as dirigibles.
